Hours ago, Federer officially withdrew from this week’s Mutua Madrid Open. His upcoming plans for the Rome masters are not yet determined. However, Roland Garros (begins May 25) is still in sight. Via phone interview, agent Tony Godsick confirmed the twin boys were born in Zurich, Switzerland. He also added, “Roger has plans to play the French Open, and he’ll take it step-by-step as to what he plays before that.”
Federer’s 28-5 record in 2014 is the best on tour this season. He has not missed a grand slam since 2000.
