Federer says he has “great memories” playing at Hamburg where he won four titles, most recently in 2007, when the event had Masters Series status. Since then, the tournament is now at the status of ATP 500, and will take place from July 15-21.
“I always did very well at Rothenbaum, played some fantastic matches and celebrated important victories there.”
I am happy to let you know that I will also be playing #Hamburg this summer, where I have many fond memories.

Federer has only played 35 matches so far in 2013, his fewest since 1999. His light load will be balanced by playing both Hamburg and Gstaad later this month, although both on clay. Following that, his schedule resumes at the Montreal masters in August.
