The Wimbledon 2013 draw has been released. The Swiss maestro will open his campaign for a record breaking 8th title against Victor Hanescu on Monday, June 24, first up on Centre Court. His potential second round is against Dutra Silva or Sergiy Stakhovsky, followed by a third round against either of Fabio Fognini, Jurgen Melzer, or Lukas Rosol (upset Nadal in 2nd round last year). Federer’s projected fourth round match is against Nicolas Almagro or Jerzy Janowicz. Beyond that, the Swiss has a mountain to climb. He is seeded to meet Rafael Nadal in the quarterfinals, Andy Murray in the semifinals, and either of Novak Djokovic, David Ferrer, Tomas Berdych, or Juan Martin Del Potro in the final. The path to #8 is a difficult one.
Potential quarterfinal match-ups by seedings: #1 Novak Djokovic vs #7 Tomas Berdych, #4 David Ferrer vs #8 Juan Martin Del Potro, #3 Roger Federer vs #5 Rafael Nadal, #2 Andy Murray vs #6 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
