Roger Federer eased his way into the Dubai semifinals yet again, winning 6-3 6-4 in his first meeting with Sergiy Stakhovsky of Ukraine. He now faces Richard Gasquet in the semifinals. Gasquet held off Giles Simon 5-7 6-2 6-4. Novak Djokovic and Tomas Berdych also are into the semifinals and the two will play each other in a rematch of their Australian Open quarterfinal. Djokovic defeated Florian Mayer 7-5 6-4 while Berdych defeated Phillip Petzschner of Germany by the same score, 7-5 6-4.
