Roger Federer begins his summer hard court swing at the Coupe Rogers, also known as the Montreal Masters or Canadian Open. The Swiss maestro comes off the heels of winning his record 8th Wimbledon title, and 19th grand slam overall. He is seeded second, playing his first match on Wednesday, August 9, against Peter Polansky of Canada. On court, the 36-year-old Swiss (happy birthday Roger (August 8)) will sport the latest gear from Nike.
The new outfit is part of the NikeCourt Fall 2017 line, including a henley top, a new RF logo on the shorts, and the flagship NikeCourt Zoom Vapor 9.5 Flyknit shoes, an evolution of the iconic Nike Zoom Vapor 9.5 Tour shoes. Prominent colors include sunset tint, midnight navy, and red stardust on apparel, with white, blue jay, pure platinum, and action red on the shoes. The current model of NikeCourt Zoom Vapor 9.5 Flyknit shoes are not available at this time (Federer is pictured below, wearing them in a practice session).
The new Flykit models feature breathable, lightweight Flyknit fabric that wraps the foot for a second-skin fit. Nike Zoom Air provides stability and responsive cushioning. The NikeCourt Zoom Vapor 9.5 Flyknit shoes retain the vintage characteristics of the previous Zoom Vapor 9.5 Tour, having phylon foam midsole with Zoom Air heel unit for responsive cushioning, TPU midfoot shank for lateral support and stability, and XDR rubber at heel and forefoot for durable traction.
