In a rematch of the 2007 final, Federer eased past Mikhail Youzhny 6-3 6-4 in the quarterfinals of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships on Thursday night. The Swiss maestro continued to serve very well, remaining unbroken through three matches this week. Federer also played with good form at the net, picking opportune moments to move forward. After breaking for 3-1 in the first set, things fell into place for the Swiss, who is through to his 8th consecutive semifinal since the 2011 US Open. He is a four time champion in Dubai, seeking his 5th title this week.
Next up in the semifinals is a showdown vs either Jo-Wilfried Tsonga or Juan Martin Del Potro.
