2012 marks the 20th anniversary of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic took to the Burj helipad and spoke about the tournament and their thoughts on the incredible views of Dubai from high up. Djokovic is the #1 seed and defending champion. Federer will be going for his 5th title in Dubai. He has previously won in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2007, and was a finalist in 2006 and 2011. The Swiss maestro leads the Serb 14-10 head to head. The two spoke in high praise of each other.
Federer speaking about Djokovic – “Novak was the best of the bunch in Dubai last year and it was great to see; I can only tip my hat to him and I expect him to be really tough as the year goes on.”
Djokovic returned the respect, saying “Roger has been such an iconic player, he was revolutionary in some ways, he’s changed the game and because of him this game is what it is at this moment.” Check out the video below via the ATP World Tour.
