Roger Federer swiftly advanced to the second round of the 2015 Australian Open Monday evening with a straight sets victory over 46th ranked Yen-Hsun Lu. The Swiss maestro looked comfortable on Rod Laver Arena from the start, as the crowd at Melbourne Park was in much appreciation of some spectacular shots early on.
The 33-year-old Swiss served nine aces, firing 57 winners to 37 unforced errors across the three sets. Aggressive as his new normal, Federer was 30/43 at net.

With the 6-4 6-2 7-5 victory over Lu, Federer advances to the second round, where he will face Simone Bolelli. The 4-time Australian Open champion is scheduled to practice on court 16, Tuesday January 20, 1-2pm (Melbourne time).
