A few months ago, Roger Federer experimented with a blacked out Wilson prototype racquet, confirming his switch, and further explanation revealed the racquet was not a Wilson Blade 98.
The Swiss maestro chose to revert to his Wilson Pro Staff BLX 90 for the Cincinnati masters and US Open, yet mentioned he would spend more time in the fall for racquet testing. That time frame was assumably the past month. Today, Federer used the same racquet in his first practice session, deciding against the previous prototype.
