Swiss maestro Roger Federer pulled out of the 2013 Rogers Cup today, citing his withdrawal on his Facebook page. Less than a week ago, he made his back issues known (arose in Hamburg), and that he was doubtful for the Montreal masters. However, no official reason nor injury is cited for his withdrawal.
I am disappointed not to be playing in Montreal next week. It is a great tournament with amazing fans. I look forward to competing there in the future.
Federer is scheduled to return next week in Cincinnati for the W&S Open, the final major tournament leading up to the US Open.
