Qatar Open Semifinals: Federer beats Tsonga. Davydenko easily beats Rafa.

Federer beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga today 6-3 7-6 (2) to advance to the Qatar Open final for the third time and will look to improve upon his 22-3 record at this tournament, which includes titles in 2005 and 2006. He will face #4 seed and defending champion Nikolay Davydenko, who easily beat Rafa Nadal in the second semifinal 6-3 6-2. Davydenko now leads in the head to head with Rafa 6-4 and has beaten him the last four times they’ve played.

So the final is all set, its Federer vs Davydenko, with Rogelio going into this match-up carrying a 14-2 lead, however Davydenko was playing in great form this time last year as he had won the meetings at the 2009 World Tour Final semifinals and in the semifinal of this tournament in 2010 before bowing out after a tough few sets in the Australian Open quarterfinals.

Here at FedererFan07 I advocate watching tennis online. I know of a few links but if anybody knows better ones or different ones, send them to me thru the Meebo chat widget in the sidebar. Also I have updated the Doha 2011 photo album so look at the newest photos at FedererFan07 on Facebook
