2016 Monte Carlo Rolex Masters Draw

The 2016 Monte Carlo Rolex Masters draw ceremony was held Saturday morning in Monaco, where Roger Federer is free of a late stomach flu bug, practicing ahead of his return to the ATP World Tour. The Swiss maestro has not played a tour match since January. Seeded third, he is drawn into the top half with Novak Djokovic, and faces either Thomaz Bellucci or Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in the second round following a first round bye. A third round places the 34-year-old Swiss against either Roberto Bautista-Agut or Jeremy Chardy.

Entering the later stages of the tournament, Federer is projected to face Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the quarterfinals, with a possible 2014 repeat against Novak Djokovic in the semifinals. Leading the bottom half of the draw are second seed Andy Murray, fourth seed and 2014 champion Stan Wawrinka, and fifth seed Rafael Nadal.
