After Friday’s second round defeat of Ivo Karlovic, Roger Federer continued his strong serving, having no difficulties in a routine 6-3 6-3 victory over Thiemo de Bakker in the third round at the 2014 Sony Open.
The Swiss maestro dropped just seven points on serve for the match, which was never in doubt from start to finish. Flashy shots made their way midway through the second set, as the two time champion in Miami pushed to close the match in a hurry.
Federer will face Gasquet in the fourth round.
