Seems like yesterday (it might actually be yesterday) that I told you about how Roger is the class act of tennis history and yet again he has helped to initiate a charity event such as this.
Earlier today Roger posted on his Facebook page:
This Sunday at 2p on Rod Laver Arena we are going to do a charity match called “Rally for Relief” to help raise money for the relief efforts for the devastating floods in Queensland. Lots of the games stars will participate. It should be a lot of fun.
Here is the excerpt taken from the Australian Open’s official site:
Tennis stars Rally for Relief to help flood victims
Tennis superstars Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and friends will gather on Sunday afternoon in Melbourne for a special exhibition to raise money for the victims of Australia’s flood disaster. Federer, Nadal, Lleyton Hewitt, Sam Stosur and Pat Rafter headline a glittering list of tennis superstars who will put aside their Australian Open preparations for the Rally for Relief tennis match at Rod Laver Arena on Sunday at 2pm.
This is amazing stuff to see. Hopefully they can raise much needed funds for the victims of the flood disaster.
