2016 Brisbane International Draw

The Brisbane International draw ceremony was held January 1 in Brisbane, where Roger Federer will begin his 2016 season. The Swiss maestro returns as defending champion, seeded #1 and receives a first round bye. His first match of the year will be a second round match against Australian wildcard Benjamin Mitchell or a qualifier. The 34-year-old Swiss is likely to face fifth seed Gilles Simon or unseeded Grigor Dimitrov in the quarterfinals, while third seed Marin Cilic and eighth seed Dominic Thiem are projected semifinal opponents.
