2015 Monte Carlo Masters Draw

The 2015 Monte Carlo Rolex Masters Draw was released Saturday, as the players made way to the practice courts before the start of the clay court season next week in Monaco. Roger Federer returns to action after skipping the Miami Open. The 33-year-old Swiss took a brief layoff, followed by a training block with Stefan Edberg in Switzerland, which included flying in young player Dominic Thiem.

Federer is seeded second, receiving a first round bye before taking on Jeremy Chardy or a qualifier in the second round. He could face a difficult test early on, as Gael Monfils is his seeded third round opponent. A rematch of last year’s final lurks in the quarterfinals, where the Swiss maestro could face compatriot Stan Wawrinka.

Fourth seeded Milos Raonic or sixth seeded Tomas Berdych are projected semifinal match-ups for Federer, who is seeking one of two ATP World Tour Masters 1000 titles to elude him (Monte Carlo, Rome). Another clash with either Novak Djokovic or Rafael Nadal would have to wait until the final, as both players lead the top half of the draw, potentially facing off in the semifinals.
